I've always had this love of Tennessee Walking Horses. As a young child, my grandpa owned(and still does own!) a Tennessee Walking Horse named Max. There are quite a few pictures of little me being led around on that giant. There are also pictures of me on pony rides, and I've never seen a picture of myself where I looked like I was having more fun. And as I grew older, I continued to go out to the barn with my grandpa. I was lucky enough to know this horse named Max. You see, he's just about the nicest horse you will ever meet. He would never dream of throwing a rider or bucking or anything. Knowing that about Max enabled me to be comfortable in the saddle. It's never been a fear of mine that I'd be thrown off because of this fantastic horse. I share a different bond with horses than a lot of people I talk to now. I don't show Max, nor do I compete. Max and I enjoy trail riding and walking around barrels while being as thrilled as if we had run around them in a major competition. To me, this is perfection. I admire those who ride competitively or ride English (I ride western!), but I don't think I would trade how I ride now with anything else. Max is my best friend, and I don't know what I'd do without him. That's why if you see Max listed under the registered horses or 'Our Horses' you won't find that he has a show name or prefix or anything. He's simply Max, my best friend.
